Who is Sally Cook?
Sally has spent a good deal of the last 40+ years of her life seeking answers to ‘the meaning of life’ in general, and the meaning of her life specifically. With her consummate ability to see the good in everyone, and her abundant love for humanity, she has realised that she is blessed to have the capacity to aid and alleviate the suffering of others. She has studied various forms of healing modalities, worked as a Counsellor, Couples Counsellor, Massage Therapist, Life Coach, Parenting Coach, Support Worker, Social Worker, Nia Teacher and Celebrant. She has organised, promoted and led Communication Skills Programmes, Parenting Courses, Personal Growth Seminars and Trainings for both adults and children around New Zealand and overseas.
Sally’s Celebrant Career began a number of years ago. Having written both her mother’s and father’s Memorial services, her Training with the Celebrant School started with a focus on Funerals and Memorials. She knows that her experience as a counsellor, and her innate empathy for others, means she has a great deal to offer grieving families. Her ability to really BE with people, wherever they are, allows them to be open to exploring how they want their ceremony to be.
Now, having co-created her own beautiful wedding nearly 30 years ago, she is excited to share her love of ceremony and ritual with couples wanting to celebrate and honour their relationship by offering Wedding and Civil Union Ceremonies.
“Throughout the creation of the ceremony, Sally was insightful, intuitive, creative, and very supportive. She made sure that this ceremony was my vision, not hers, and she listened to, and beautifully interpreted my wishes. On the night, I felt so supported, held, and celebrated by her loving presence. I would gladly recommend Sally as a celebrant with a great depth of wisdom and compassion. Thank you, Sally, for making this special night possible for me”. Lynda W
